IISc Ranking – scientists :August 2021 data-update for “Updated science-wide author databases of standardized citation indicators”

A comprehensive database (Jeroen et al., 2021)1 of the 100,000 most-cited authors across all scientific fields is available at https://elsevier.digitalcommonsdata.com/datasets/btchxktzyw/3. This systematically ranks all the most-cited scientists in each and every scientific field to a sufficient ranking depth considering Scopus data. Ranking of scientists is done based on a composite indicator, considering six citation metrics (total citations; Hirsch h-index; coauthorship-adjusted Schreiber hm-index; a number of citations to papers as a single author;  number of citations to papers as single or first author; and number of citations to papers as single, first, or last author).Scientists are classified into 22 scientific fields and 176 subfields. The ranking based on c-score (with and without self-citations) of the top 100,000 scientists or a percentile rank of 2% or above, features 134 researchers from IISc.
