IISc Paper Selected as Best Paper Finalist at CVPR 2026

A research paper from IISc, titled “Rethinking Dataset Distillation: Hard Truths about Soft Labels,” has been selected as a Best Paper Finalist at the IEEE/CVF Conference on Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition (CVPR) 2026, one of the world’s premier conferences in computer vision and artificial intelligence.

The IISc paper has been recognised among the top 15 papers selected as finalists for the Best Paper Award out of 16,000 paper submissions, placing it among the most highly regarded contributions presented at the conference.

Dataset distillation has emerged as a promising direction for efficient learning, and this work revisits some of its core assumptions, uncovering important insights about the role of soft labels and their limitations.

Congratulations to the team: Venkatesh Babu Radhakrishnan, Priyam Dey, Aditya Sahdev, Sunny Bhati, Konda Reddy Mopuri!
